August 21, 2019>>>S.C. Mental Health Patient Suffocated by Untrained Hospital Staff
September 9, 2019Before punching a girl at Garden City Hospital, the man was caught on camera attacking a teen at Beaumont Hospital last year.
A patient punched a visitor at Garden City Hospital in Michigan as she was walking into the emergency room to see her father.
In June, John Deliz, who was in a bed and had an IV in his arm, got up and punched 45-year-old Andrea Murphy in the face, reports Click On Detroit.
Photos were released showing Murphy’s swollen black and blue face.
“The emotional trauma, of course, is worse because she didn’t expect it,” said Majed Moughni, Murphy’s attorney.
Deliz was also charged and released for time served in connection with the Feb. 2018 assault on a 19-year-old Muslim woman at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan.
Video surveillance showed Deliz come up from behind the woman and attack her as she was checking in at the emergency room front desk.
He was charged with a misdemeanor and released from jail on time served after less than 90 days, reports Metro Times.
Dawud Walid, executive director of Council on American Islamic Relations Michigan, called the dropped charges a “slap on the wrist.”
“The message this sends is that if any old random white guy wants to assault a Muslim woman, but doesn’t supposedly cause that much harm, then they’ll get a slap on the wrist,” Walid said.
Moughni, who was also the attorney of the 2018 victim, said Deliz should have been immediately flagged by hospital security as a danger.
As of now, Deliz’s whereabouts are unknown.
