ZANESVILLE — Allwell Behavioral Health Services has long recognized the need for a place where youth are able to step away from difficult situations, relax and focus on their individual needs.
With youth and their families facing strenuous times and stressful situations, the community deserves a place that offers a calm environment that promotes safety, security, compassion, and support, Allwell said in a press release.
A support center for youth and families, Linser’s Landing, recently opened at 2575 Olde Falls Road. It’s named for Jeff Linser, a long-time clinician and advocate for treatment of youth and adolescents in the area. Linser collaborated with local agencies for decades to develop programs and activities to help children and families in crisis. Allwell has brought his vision to life with the new multi-function facility.
The location will provide respite and de-escalation services as part of a new Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) program at Allwell, both on-site and within the community. This calm and welcoming environment will promote safety and security for youth and their families. The site will offer individual and family services, including skill building groups and parent cafes for parent education and support groups. It will also house the MRSS Crisis Response team.
The new initiative opens in time for the July 1 launch of the new Ohio RISE program and establishment of MRSS services through the Ohio Department of Medicaid. A ribbon cutting and open house will be at 4 p.m. June 22.
